Gujarat, was foiled when the shop owner quickly reacted to an assailant’s plot.

The incident, which took place on November 3, involved a woman who entered the gold and silver shop, reportedly near the Ranip vegetable market, under the pretense of being a customer. Surveillance footage captured the moment when the woman, whose face was partially concealed, abruptly threw chili powder at the shopkeeper in an effort to incapacitate him and commit the robbery.

However, her attempt to blind the owner failed to land, and the shopkeeper immediately recognized the danger. He swiftly stood up and confronted the attacker, repeatedly slapping her—approximately 20 times in a matter of 25 seconds—before pulling her away from the counter and pushing her out of the establishment.

The entire episode was recorded on the store’s CCTV system and has since circulated widely online. Although police officials confirmed the shopkeeper chose not to file a formal complaint regarding the robbery attempt, the Ahmedabad Police have launched an investigation based on the video evidence to identify and locate the woman involved.
