Veteran Bollywood actor Govinda was urgently admitted to a hospital in Mumbai’s Juhu neighborhood on Wednesday after experiencing a sudden loss of consciousness.

The incident, which saw the actor rushed to CritiCare Asia Hospital, was confirmed by the news agency Press Trust of India (PTI). The hospitalization comes just a day after Govinda had visited fellow actor Dharmendra, who was being treated at Breach Candy Hospital in the city.

In addition to his film career, Govinda is actively involved in politics, serving as a member of the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena.

The report also recalled a separate incident from October of the previous year, where the actor was admitted to the same facility after accidentally shooting himself in the leg with his licensed revolver. Following the accidental injury, Govinda had emphasized the pressures of celebrity, stating that personal security was a necessity for a successful public figure.
