‘Tere Ishk Mein’ Release Excitement: Early Reviews, Box Office Buzz, and Star Insights

The romantic drama ‘Tere Ishk Mein,’ starring Dhanush and Kriti Sanon and directed by Aanand L. Rai, has generated immense excitement upon its release (or impending release) on November 28, 2025. This film marks the third collaboration between Dhanush and Rai, who previously delivered the hits Raanjhanaa and Atrangi Re.

Strong Box Office Predictions

The movie is poised for a significant opening, with trade analysts predicting a debut collection between ₹9 to ₹11 crore on its first day. This optimism is fueled by robust advance bookings, which reportedly accounted for ticket sales of over 240,000 and grossed approximately ₹5.64 crore before release. Experts anticipate that the film could become Dhanush’s highest-grossing Hindi opener, surpassing the debut numbers of Raanjhanaa.

Filmmaker and Cast on the Movie

Director Aanand L. Rai has described his enduring professional relationship with Dhanush as something that has evolved into a personal bond, calling the actor “like a son.” He also praised music director AR Rahman, stating he relies on Rahman to craft the music for his intense, layered stories. Addressing comparisons to films like Animal and Kabir Singh following the trailer’s release, Rai asserted that while his protagonist, Shankar, exhibits aggression, the story itself is unique and focuses on an emotionally sensitive character, distinguishing it from the toxic masculinity narratives of the other films.

Dhanush, ahead of the premiere, shared a personal message reflecting on his journey, revisiting the streets of Banaras that were central to his character Kundan in Raanjhanaa, symbolizing a full circle moment as he introduces his new character, Shankar.

Kriti Sanon, who plays the character Mukti—a woman grappling with mental struggles and haunting memories—spoke about the intense process of filming. She noted that the pre-climax and climax sequences, in particular, were physically and emotionally draining, requiring her to convey deep, unsaid emotions purely through her expressions.

Early Critical Reception

Initial reactions to ‘Tere Ishk Mein’ have been highly positive. One early review praised the director for his mature handling of the complex love story, which delves into themes of sacrifice and pain. The review specifically highlighted AR Rahman’s background score for elevating the emotional depth of the film and declared Dhanush and Kriti Sanon’s performances as “award-worthy,” suggesting they delivered the best work of their careers.
