Tollywood Film Teams Postpone Updates Following Devastating Chevella Accident

Film production teams in the Telugu cinema industry have announced the postponement of planned updates for two major upcoming movies, expressing grief over a tragic road accident that occurred near Chevella in Telangana’s Rangareddy district.

The accident, a head-on collision between a public transport bus and a tipper lorry carrying gravel, resulted in the deaths of 19 people (including 13 women and a child) and left 22 others injured. The drivers of both vehicles perished in the crash, which occurred approximately 50 km from Hyderabad. Officials noted that the severity of the accident was compounded by gravel spilling onto the bus, trapping several passengers.

Postponed Film Announcements

In a show of solidarity with the affected families, the teams for two highly anticipated films deferred their announcements:

  • NC24 (Naga Chaitanya’s 24th Film): The team for this movie, directed by Karthik Dandu, postponed the scheduled reveal of Meenakshi Chaudhary’s character poster. They released a statement expressing deep sadness and offering “heartfelt condolences to the families who lost their loved ones.”
  • NBK111 (Balakrishna’s 111th Film): The team for this project, directed by Gopichand Malineni, held back a planned announcement regarding the film’s female lead. They stated their decision was made “in view of the heartbreaking incident” and extended their “deepest sympathies and prayers to the families affected.”

Other industry figures, including director Anil Ravipudi, also posted condolences on social media following the tragedy.
