UP Government Mandates ‘Vande Mataram’ in All Educational Institutions

Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh—The Uttar Pradesh state government has issued a directive making the singing of the national song, ‘Vande Mataram,’ compulsory for all students in schools and higher educational institutions throughout the state.

The announcement was made by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday, November 10, 2025, while addressing an ‘Ekta Yatra’ event in Gorakhpur.

According to the Chief Minister, the measure is intended to cultivate a stronger sense of national pride and respect among the younger generation. He stated that it is essential for the national song to be respected and emphasized that its recitation would be integrated into the daily activities of every educational facility in Uttar Pradesh.

The move marks a significant policy change aimed at reinforcing patriotic sentiments within the state’s academic environment.
