Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched a sharp attack on the opposition Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Congress alliance during a recent election rally in Jamui, Bihar. Shah asserted that the leadership of Lalu Prasad Yadav, Rabri Devi, and Rahul Gandhi is devoid of any genuine development agenda for the state.
Addressing the crowd, the senior leader claimed that the opposition’s priorities are focused internally, stating that those whose primary concern is the welfare of their own “sons and daughters” are incapable of steering Bihar toward prosperity.
Allegations of Patronizing Infiltrators
Shah intensified his criticism by alleging that the RJD-Congress coalition had neglected the state’s impoverished population during their period in power. He accused the combine of instead providing patronage to “infiltrators,” which he claimed resulted in these groups seizing jobs, food resources, and public assets intended for the poor.
Contrast on Law and Order
The Home Minister drew a stark contrast between the current government and what he termed the “era of anarchy” under the previous RJD regime. He specifically referenced the widespread influence of Maoists and Naxalites in areas like Gaya, Aurangabad, and Jamui during that time. Shah credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government with successfully dismantling and eliminating the Naxal menace from Bihar.
Five-Year Pledge
Concluding his address, Shah sought a renewed mandate, promising that an additional five years in power would see Bihar counted among the developed states of the country. He also specifically committed to implementing measures to make the state entirely flood-free.
